"Gathering of the Faithful"
Celebrating 35 Years of Sports Car Enthusiasm

The Manila Sports Car Club celebrated its 35th Anniversary with an all-day meet at the Rockwell Center Plaza Garden on October 27, 2002. The meet was dedicated to the founders of the club Amado Castro, Rolf Kliedienst, and Andy Sta. Maria. Two of the original cars made it to the meet, still in wonderful condition, and were displayed by the original owners, the TR4A of Amado Castro and the MG TD of Rolf Kliendienst. Andy Sta. Maria’s light blue TR4, sold by him in 1970, had long since disappeared.
More than 40 sports cars, representing the countries responsible for their creation, were given center stage for this event: sports cars from the United States, German, Italy, Japan, England, France and even our very own Michel. Needless to say, we had our fill of Ferraris, Porsches, MGs, Alfa Romeos, Mercedes Benz, Miatas, Datsuns, Corvettes, etc., etc.
A Lotus 23, Shelby GT 350, TR2, Opel GT, and a Karman Ghia represented the MSCC vintage racing grid.
With the weather in full cooperation, thanks to the many prayers said and offered, many people came streaming into the event from the Power Plant Mall. A good cross section of our society joined us in celebrating this momentous occasion for MSCC.
To cap this event, cocktails was served. We all had a good taste of vino that just kept on pouring thanks to Louie and Marc Ablaza of Contemporary Hotel. Also, thank you to Audio Rhythmix and Bilstein for sponsoring this event.
The Concours Committee displayed the Lalique crystal radiator mascot adorning the MSCC perpetual. Looking forward to our Concours d' Elegance? You should be, we promise that it will again be another highlight in the illustrious legacy of MSCC.
