| 1. |
Basic
Rule.
Your car will be
eligible for MSCC vintage sports car racing if:
|
|
| a. |
it has two seats or is a 2+2; |
| b. |
it meets the regulations and highway code of the Philippines or, if you are not from the Philippines, your country of residence;
and |
| c. |
at least 100 mechanically identical examples of your car were built before 1976. |
|
|
|
| 2. |
Run-On Models.
If your car was built after 1975, it will still be eligible, if: |
|
| a. |
production of your car's model was continuous; |
| b. |
the model is no longer being manufactured; and |
| c. |
your car's specification is identical to those produced before 1976. |
|
|
|
| 3. |
Sedans.
MSCC sometimes admits four-seater cars by way of exception.
|
| Please check with the MSCC Secretariat if you wish to race such a car before you prepare it for racing. |
|
|
| VEHICLE
IDENTITY FORM OR LOG BOOK
|
|
|
| 1. |
Requirement. |
|
You must complete a Vehicle Identity Form for your car and present this to the scrutineer before each event. The MSCC Vehicle Identity Form is incorporated into a log book, which is signed and stamped by the scrutineer each time your car is raced.
|
| 2. |
Where to Get. |
|
Our Vehicle Identity Forms are available at the MSCC Secretariat. If you are not from the Philippines, you should get a Vehicle Identity Form from the club that oversees vintage racing in your country.
|
CLASSIFICATION
OF CARS
|
| 1. |
Race Groups.
You will race in one of the several racing groups shown in Annex A to these Regulations. However, you have the option to compete in a faster Group than the Group in which your car would normally be classified.
|
| 2. |
Revision of Race Groups.
We reserve the right from time to time to: |
|
| a. |
modify Annex A at our discretion if we
believe that will allow cars of comparable
performance to compete in the same Group; and |
| b. |
consolidate Groups at any event, depending on the number of participating cars. |
|
|
|
DRIVERS
|
| 1. |
Qualification.
You must have a valid racing driver's license issued by the
Automobile Association of the Philippines or, if you are not from the Philippines, by the organization that governs vintage racing in your country.
|
| 2. |
Safety Gear.
You must wear a crash helmet, fire-resistant clothing, gloves, and shoes that meet our requirements for safety. In general, helmets and safety gear must meet current FIA regulations.
|
| 3. |
Invitational Events. |
|
Participation in our vintage events is by invitation. We reserve the right
to exclude competitors who, in our opinion, do not observe the
spirit of these Regulations.
|
A style of driving that is not consistent with the spirit of vintage racing will be cause for the immediate disqualification of the driver and his suspension from future events.
|
PAINT,
ADVERTISING, & MARKINGS
|
| 1. |
Paint. |
|
Your car must be painted in a period color and period paint scheme. Modern paint schemes, color combinations, graphics, sharks-teeth decorations, personal messages, and similar markings are not allowed.
We reserve the right to exclude any car painted in a color or scheme that in our opinion detracts from the period appearance of our events.

| 2. |
Advertising. |
|
NO ADVERTISING IS ALLOWED on your race car throughout the event, even in the paddock, except that: |
|
| a. |
you may place advertising above and below the competition numbers of your car; each advertising space must not be bigger than 50cm x 14cm. Please see the drawing shown below; if there is no space above or below the racing number, advertising may be placed on the side
of, but not touching, the number background; |
| b. |
we may require you to place our event sponsor's advertisement on one of the two allowed spaces next to the racing number; |
| c. |
with the written permission of MSCC, you may paint your car in the original advertising livery your car's model used for racing during its period. |

|
| 3. |
Driver's Name & Club Badge. |
|
You may place your name once on each side of the car on a
space not bigger than 10cm x 40cm. You may also place your club’s badge on each side of the car On a space not larger than 10cm x 10cm.
|
| 4. |
Racing Numbers.
You must place competition numbers on each front door and on the nose of
your car. You may also place a fourth number on the rear boot lid. The minimum height of each
figure is 23cm with a stroke of 4cm. The background, including the advertising referred to in
the next section, must occupy a space of not more than 50cm wide and 60cm high.

We
allocate racing numbers permanently to each car on a first-come,
first-served basis. We reserve the
right to reallocate numbers assigned to cars that have not participated
actively in vintage racing or have
become ineligible.
